Disability and Access Notice
Medico-Legal Reporting Services — Aya Med Ltd
Our approach
We want every claimant to be able to attend their appointment and take part in their examination comfortably and with dignity. Dr Mohammed Noaman personally assesses each claimant's vulnerability and access needs when arranging the appointment, and reviews this again at the examination itself.
What we ask about
- Communication needs, including whether an interpreter is required
- Any learning disability or cognitive difficulty that may mean extra time or a different approach is needed
- Any concern about your ability to understand or consent to the examination
- Emotional distress or vulnerability relevant to the examination
- Any physical disability or mobility need affecting access to the venue or the examination
- Whether you would like a chaperone present
- Whether you would like to bring a support person or family member with you
Please tell us about any of these needs when your appointment is arranged, so that we can plan for them in advance. You are also welcome to raise anything at the appointment itself.
Interpreters
Where a claimant needs an interpreter, one is arranged on an ad hoc basis for the appointment. Please let us know as early as possible if you need this so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
Chaperones
A chaperone can be offered for your examination, and we will try to arrange a chaperone of your preferred gender where possible. You have the right to decline a chaperone, and the option remains available to you throughout your appointment even if you initially decline it.
Accessibility and individual support
Examinations take place at Clinica Vitalis, 52 The Ropewalk, Nottingham, NG1 5DW, a CQC-registered clinical venue located within a newly refurbished historical building in the Ropewalk district of Nottingham. Due to the nature and structural limitations of the building, some aspects of full physical accessibility may currently be limited.
We are committed to supporting patients individually and respectfully wherever reasonably possible. If you have any mobility requirements, disability access needs, sensory considerations, communication needs, or require additional support before attending, we encourage you to contact the clinic in advance so we can discuss how best to support your visit.
Support available may include:
- Induction loop support for hearing aid users
- Accessible or enlarged printed materials on request
- Multilingual written information where feasible
- Additional appointment support arrangements where appropriate
- Access to emergency and first aid support equipment on site
Please note that the toilet facilities within the clinic are constrained by the original layout of the historical building. As a result, the WC is not currently fitted with accessibility support rails and may require assistance from a carer or accompanying person for patients who require physical support with mobility or transfers.
Where we are unable to safely or appropriately meet a specific accessibility requirement within the current premises, we will aim to signpost patients to alternative accessible services or locations where appropriate. Our aim is always to support patients in accessing care safely, respectfully, and in a way that is practical for their individual needs.
Your rights
We aim to make reasonable adjustments in line with the Equality Act 2010 for claimants with a disability. If you feel your needs were not met, you can raise this with us using our complaints process.
